JORDAN SHAHNAM, D.M.D.
Dr. Shahnam is very caring and passionate about providing the highest quality of care and service and he enjoys interacting with patients to ensure that they are well-informed and feel comfortable. He places a strong emphasis on preventive care, which is reflected by his hygiene program.
Dr. Shahnam strongly believes in the importance of continued education. He regularly takes advanced training courses from some of the most highly respected and best dental practitioners in the country to stay up to date with state of the art technology and procedures.
Prior to fulfilling his lifelong dream of purchasing his own dental practice, Dr. Shahnam was the lead Associate Dentist at a high-end dental spa in Napa, CA, where he catered to a wide range of clientele including prominent wine-makers and critically acclaimed chefs in the area. He believes that each of his clients deserves V.I.P. attention. Dr. Shahnam was raised in the Reno/Lake Tahoe area of Nevada and has always enjoyed living in smaller communities.
Prior to becoming a dentist, Dr. Shahnam was a dental lab technician while in college, which gave him a very unique background in the art and science of fabricating dental porcelain crowns. He graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a B.S. in Biology and earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with Cum Laude honors. He was then one of eight dental graduates in the country to be admitted to the highly competitive advanced General Practice Residency program at the University of Washington Medical Center and Puget Sound Veterans Affairs hospitals. During his residency he had the opportunity to learn from some of the most highly respected world leaders in dentistry, and received advanced training in oral surgery, preventive dental care, and management of medically complex patients.
Most recently, he attended a mini-residency at UCLA on advanced dental implant restoration. Dr. Shahnam has also been invited to lecture at the University of Nevada, Reno, where he was past President of the Pre-Dental Society and to dental residents at the University of Washington on the most current research, clinical guidelines and procedures. He has also contributed to publications for the California Dental Association and is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, California Dental Association and Monterey Bay Dental Society.
In his spare time, Dr. Shahnam enjoys hiking, traveling, music, and spending time with family.
